About Us
Hi there, we’re the Craig-West family.
We live in Leicester and have decided that instead of flying we’re going to drive to Spain this summer.
The plan is to drive to Dover, catch the ferry to Calais and then drive through France towards Perpignon, round Barcelona and down the Mediterranean motorway towards Almeria. We’re not going to drive it all in one stretch, we’re going to take a few days and do some sightseeing and camping stops along the way and then do something similar for the journey back to Leicester.
The point of this blog is to share our experiences, have some fun, keep folks informed about our adventure, and to help those who might want to drive to Spain from the UK.

Hi
Me and family are planning a trip to spain this year and would like all the help !
thanks
Hi there. Thanks a lot for such a nice story. It is helping us a lot. I am still considering taking our own car into England. There are four of us and we want to stay in UK for one month. If we fly and then rent a car it will be veryyyyy expensive. If we go in our own car we can carry more luggage as well. So we are 75% of possibilities to travel by car against 25% flying and then renting a car.
There are different options to go into Britain though. We are considering same tryp as you (Calais) but I have read of other options as well. Some people also say that you can travel trough roads with no tolls.
Please email us to share more about the holidays tryp
