Thanks a lot for such a nice story. It is helping us a lot. I am still considering taking our own car into England. There are four of us and we want to stay in UK for one month. If we fly and then rent a car it will be veryyyyy expensive. If we go in our own car we can carry more luggage as well. So we are 75% of possibilities to travel by car against 25% flying and then renting a car. There are different options to go into Britain though. We are considering same tryp as you (Calais) but I have read of other options as well. Some people also say that you can travel trough roads with no tolls.
